You’ll Never Guess How Much Kim Kardashian’s Diaper Bag Costs!
It's worth more than your rent.
Only the Best
Kim Kardashian lives a life of luxury. Her children are no exception. Since their births, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has been spoiling daughter North West and son Saint West with the finer things in life. From custom-made designer clothes to the coolest must-have toys, the two celebrity tots are constantly showered with expensive gifts from their millionaire parents.
Her eldest has even developed a fashion sense like no other child. “[North] doesn’t like pink or purple. She likes greys, creams, oatmeal colors and black,” Kim told Lucky in 2014. “Every once in awhile she’ll add some color, like with her little red Air Yeezys, but other than that she likes to keep it pretty simple.”
Just Air Yeezys? Yeah, I know you’re already rolling your eyes.
In a new video shared on her app, the 36-year-old reality star confirmed her outrageous spending habits and revealed she uses a $23,000 Hermes Birkin bag as a diaper bag for her son. While the pricey purse is considered to be a splurge item for many fashionistas, the Selfish author said she uses the satchel for Saint’s diapers, wipes and snacks.
“But the thing is, it’s a really old bag,” she reasoned. “It was my first Birkin bag that I ever bought. You would never really buy that huge size, but that’s all they had and I just wanted one so badly and I’d saved and saved and that’s all they had and I took it.”
She continued, “When I got pregnant I was like, ‘Perfect! I’ll use it as a diaper bag.'”
What’s in the Bag
Kim also admittedly used the handbag to carry all of North’s nappies back when the 4-year-old was still potty-training. She bragged about carrying over $1,000 worth of items in the leather tote in a previous blog post, saying, “My Birkin carries all of my essentials.”
According to Kim, her kid-friendly must-haves included an iPad “so North can play games,” a $110 Mason Pearson Brush “for taming North’s curls,” a $30 set of Minnie Mouse pajamas, and a separate $20 unicorn backpack just for her firstborn. She also listed Annie’s Homegrown Cheddar Bunnies, Sun Maid Raisins, Black Forest Gummy Bears, and YumEarth Organic Lollipops as foods found in her snack pack.
“I always bring a little backpack, and throw a diaper and some snacks in there so I don’t have to carry the bigger diaper bag all the time,” she touted. “My diaper bag for North has a mix of the essentials and some of her favorite things.”
