Kim Z’s Son Reunites With the Dog That Attacked Him
Kash finally came face-to-face with Sinner
In April, five-year-old Kash Biermann was attacked by the family’s boxer/husky mix named Sinner, nicknamed Sinn. Kash was bitten in the face, and his injury was so close to his eye that his parents Kim and Kroy Biermann were fearful that he would lose his vision.
Kim was “scared” about what was going to happen to Kash, but she was ensured that he would make a full recovery. “Kash has healed up incredibly and has perfect vision in his left eye. Stitches on his water line, and his eyeball was never touched!…In no time he will heal up perfectly and you will never know this happened!” she wrote about Kash’s injuries on Instagram.
Surprisingly, the Biermanns didn’t immediately get rid of Sinn. A concerned anonymous person called animal control on the family, and the reality stars were visited by officers on July 30. Kim said on Snapchat that she was that she was “utterly f**king disgusted” that someone called animal control on her pets. Kim and Kroy are happy to take in animals in need and have several rescue dogs.
The officers didn’t require the Biermanns to hand over the dog to them to be put down. In fact, the family created a new area on their estate for Sinn to roam without supervision.
Kim and Kroy didn’t make the decision to keep Sinn lightly. On Friday’s episode of Don’t Be Tardy, Kim explained that she consulted animal behavior specialists and asked Kash about bringing the dog fully back into the fold.
“We met with behavioral specialists, we talked about it, we prayed about it, we asked Kash, and ultimately came to the decision that at this point, it would be in both Kash’s and Sinn’s best interest to see if we can introduce him back into our home and in our family,” she explained.
The first step was reintroducing Kash to Sinn. Although Kash said that he wanted to keep the dog that attacked him, Kim and Kroy were worried that he might be re-traumatized by seeing the dog. “Kash may say he wants to be around Sinn, but we don’t know how Kash is actually going to react when he sees Sinn,” Kim said in the episode.
They put a muzzle on Sinn before bringing him to meet their son again.
The boy and the dog happily played together for a while. Sinn laid on the ground hoping for a belly rub, and Kash cuddled with him. “Hey, buddy, you’re a good boy,” Kash said to Sinn. “I love Sinn a lot. My favorite thing to do with Sinner is to play with him a lot.”
Kim felt empowered by the fantastic meeting. She explained in an emotional confessional:
“We all really love Sinn, but Kash really, really loves Sinn, and that’s really the only reason why we’re bringing Sinn back. I’m just really glad that we’re both on the same page. I know this has been a really tough decision for both of us.”
