Healthy or hurtful?
Kourtney Kardashian is the known health nut of the family. From the time she wanted to eat her placenta (never forget) to the full gallon of water that she drinks every day, the oldest child of the Kardashian clan has a well-documented obsession with diet and fitness.
However, some are worried that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is taking things too far.
She Weighs 98 Pounds
Kourtney Kardashian may be known for being the strictest dieter in her family, but how far is too far? The 38-year-old seems to be smallest out of all the Kardashian sisters, and fans are now starting to worry about the mother-of-three.
She first raised concerns in 2014 after welcoming her third child with ex Scott Disick, when she shared that she only weighed 116 pounds just four months after giving birth. At the time, she pointed out on Instagram that at 5 feet tall, it was still a normal weight.
Then, earlier this year, the pint-sized reality TV star announced that she only weighs a shocking 98 pounds.
That’s only 36 pounds more than her oldest son, Mason. But according to her body mass index, while the weight may sound low, it’s considered normal for her size.
Supplements On Supplements
So, what does Kourtney do to maintain her svelte frame? According to the eldest child of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, she takes some serious supplements and injects collagen peptides into her breakfast every morning.
This supposedly is meant to “reduce cellulite, wrinkles, fine lines and keeps skin, hair, teeth and nails health,” according to a post on her app.
“I mix this collagen with water and take it on an empty stomach first thing every morning. Collagen protein will make you feel full and is effective in balancing insulin levels—which can help avoid sugar crashes,” she wrote. “As you get older, your body produces less collagen, so adding this supplement can help naturally promote the production of collagen in existing cells.”
She also loads up on vitamin C and essential vitamins like B6, folic acid, and biotin. To wash it all down, she drinks apple cider vinegar and water.
“Apple cider vinegar has a million benefits, one of the most important is that it helps your body absorb nutrients more efficiently,” she wrote. “I don’t eat until after my workout—about two hours or so after waking up.”
A Strict Diet
She also broke down her diet earlier this month, sharing her complete three-day meal plan on her app. Her clean-eating recipes included a breakfast smoothie bowl with bananas, kale, avocado, bee pollen, and chia seeds; citrus salads; sushi sandwiches; fish tacos; avocado toast; salmon filet, and more.
The KUWTK star has discussed her eating habits before, revealing she’s cut out many things from her diet after realizing she’s sensitive to corn, gluten, and dairy.
“I kept battling with myself back and forth—like, why am I doing this diet? I have always felt fine before when eating dairy and gluten, but I do believe that we have one life to live and I would like to live it feeling my best,” she shared in 2016. “I have noticed a great positive change in behavior with my children when we stick to a gluten- and dairy-free diet.”
