Hollywood is in mourning following news of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington‘s sudden passing. As details of his tragic passing continue to surface, fans and musicians alike are gathering to pay their respects to the rock singer — who tragically killed himself in his California home.
How He Died
Chester Bennington was found dead in his home at the Palos Verdes Estates in California around 9 a.m. Thursday, July 20th.
According TMZ, the Linkin Park frontman committed suicide by hanging himself in his bedroom. He was 41.
The singer flown back to the west coast from Arizona — where he had been staying with his wife — on Wednesday. The timing of his death suggests he may have killed himself late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
A housekeeper employed by Chester’s family was the one who discovered the musician’s body. He was reportedly alone at the time of his death.
News of the suicide shocked fans and musicians, including Chester’s bandmates in Linkin Park. The group reportedly had plans for a photo shoot in Hollywood on the day Bennington’s body was found. They were also in the middle of organizing a tour.
“Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one,” Mike Shinoda tweeted.
