See how they look now!
My 600-lb Life has been changing the lives of people who are morbidly obese for six years. Dr. Younan Nowzaradan helps his patients lose hundreds of pounds of excess fat using gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy, but he also inspires them to completely rethink their lifestyles. Most of Dr. Now’s patients have been able to keep their weight off for good! Here are some of the most inspirational patients.
June McCamey said that she felt “imprisoned” by her body when she weighed 590 pounds. “I’m in pain. It hurts to sit up. I’m breathing heavy. Chest is pounding. I’m worried my heart will give out,” she said sadly. June’s eating got out of control after her son passed away.
June lost almost 400 pounds of fat and excess skin while on the show, and she continues to “regain” her life. “I wasn’t active as much. Now I have so much more energy than I had before,” she stated.
Brittani Fulfer claimed that her childhood trauma made her develop an eating disorder. She was molested by a family member for six years, and the only comfort she had was eating. “I think about food non-stop. From the moment I get up from the moment I go to bed,” she said. Five-foot tall Brittani weighed just over 600 pounds before she started her weight-loss journey.
After having gastric bypass surgery, she lost hundreds of pounds. She continues to set weight-loss goals for herself and maintains a positive attitude.
Donald Shelton knew that he had to lose weight or he would die from obesity when he weighed 675 pounds. “I was getting bigger. I don’t know how I got to this point,” he explained.
After getting surgery and losing 380 pounds, he suffered a fall and was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome. His weight yo-yoed, but he has lost hundreds of pounds overall.
