Harry opens up
Prince Harry opens up about the emotional aftermath following Princess Diana’s death. The young prince was only 12 years old at the time of her tragic car accident.
Harry revealed that he didn’t know how to deal with his mother’s death. He only recently began to receive counseling.
Harry decided to get help after his older brother William encouraged him to. “Look, you need to deal with this,” William told him.
While Harry was unable to deal with the grief he felt, he didn’t even realize that what he was feeling wasn’t normal. “I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I thought this was part of, you now, growing up or whatever,” Harry said.
Harry said the entire thing was chaotic. He tried to bury his emotions, but that only made it harder.
“I sort of buried my head in the sand for many, many years… It was 20 years of not thinking about it and then two years of total chaos. And I just… I couldn’t put my finger on it,” Harry revealed.
