‘Real Housewives’ Cocaine Scandal Revealed!
She just can't keep her nose clean
The First Crime
Alexia Echevarria made her reality TV debut on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Miami back in 2011, but the show only lasted for three seasons. Alexia, the executive editor for Venue Magazine, called herself the “Cuban Barbie,” and she often caused controversy by saying that other people were below her. It didn’t take long for people to find out about her sketchy past once she gained reality notoriety.
Alexia married Pedro Rosello in January 1992 — and he was arrested a just few months later. Pedro was an original member of the massive Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta drug organization in Miami. He was sentenced to 24 years for trafficking cocaine, but only served four and a half years on the inside.
Alexia gave birth to Pedro’s son Peter the same year he was sent to prison. The couple split in 1996, but they maintained a relationship thanks to their shared son (and a lingering attraction). She became pregnant with their second son Frankie in 1998. They eventually broke it off for good.
Alexia started dating her next husband Herman Echevarria in 2001, and they tied the knot in 2004.
The Second Crime
In 2011, The Enquirer spoke to Pedro about his crimes and his relationship with Alexia. He claimed they met in the ’80s, and were heavily involved in the cocaine-laden Miami party scene. He said, “Who the hell didn’t do drugs back in the ’80s? Sure, Alexia did drugs.”
An anonymous friend told the tabloid, “I used cocaine many times with Alexia. Pedro and Alexia lived a ridiculously wild and filthy-rich lifestyle, with new high-end cars, Lotuses, Ferraris, flashy cigarette boats, posh South Beach apartments and clubbing every night.”
Pedro didn’t end his life of crime with his 1992 arrest, and the loss of his family. He ran into trouble again in 2007 after having a sexual relationship with a minor that he met at a club. He said, “It was a one-night stand. Her parents had me arrested. Things happen.” He was sentenced to 12 years probation but was arrested in 2012 for violating the terms of his sentence.
The Third Crime
According to documents obtained by CBS4 News, a tip led law enforcement officers to set up a sting to catch Pedro in the act of selling cocaine yet again. On November 8, Pedro arrived at the informant’s house with two kilos of cocaine that they tested for quality. The informant said that he would purchase all five kilos that Pedro wanted to sell for $28,000 each, and that he would meet with him later in the day to buy it. Pedro left the home with the two kilos, and the cops jumped into action.
They pulled him over for a traffic stop, and drug-sniffing dogs indicated that the drugs were hidden under his backseat. Pedro admitted to trying to sell the drugs and was charged with possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
Pedro and Alexia’s oldest son Peter has been arrested at least twice in the last few years for drug-related crimes and for assaulting a homeless man.
Alexia is in dire financial straits herself right now. Her house was purchased by the star’s now deceased husband Herman Echevarria before they were married and now, she is battling Herman’s adult sons over the ownership of the property.
BankUnited said that Alexia stopped paying on the Miami Beach home early in 2017. They asked her to pay $1,636,385.82 and interest, or the house will be sold at auction. The home was appraised at $3 million.
