RHONJ Husband Gives Wife Ultimatum: It’s Me or the Show!
She had no choice but to leave
Taking Her Exit
Siggy Flicker penned a heartfelt letter in December saying that while she was grateful for the opportunity to be on season eight of Real Housewives of New Jersey, she wouldn’t be back for another season. In her letter, she explained that the biggest problem she encountered was being harassed by her co-star Margaret Josephs who offended Siggy by making a remark about Adolph Hitler and calling the cops on her.
“Margaret blurted out on camera that Sirens [Production] told her that I sucked & she was to continue targeting me,” she revealed. Due to the unwarranted harassment, Siggy felt like her personal life was being negatively affected. She wrote:
“This year the job has taken a significant toll on my health & caused tremendous stress on me and my family because of the hostile working environment created by Sirens Production. I cannot comprehend why Sirens Production felt the need to distort the truth to the point it is no longer true.”
It turns out that Siggy was given an ultimatum by someone very close to her to get off the show or lose out on a relationship.
Marriage Over Fame
Siggy revealed that her husband Michael Campanella told her that he would divorce her if she continued to be on the show.
“He and my kids hated seeing what the show was doing to me! When you are in a toxic environment at work it affects every part of your life. An unhappy job was making me an unhappy wife and mom,” she told Radar Online. “Michael said to me I had to get happy. He said I couldn’t continue with the negativity. It was breaking me down. Breaking my marriage down.”
Siggy explained that her husband, “who [she] love[s] to the ends of the earth” knew that she wasn’t happy and that he would only support her if she said no to another season. “Michael told me that if I had stayed on the show one more season our marriage would have ended. Everyone was so unhappy,” she explained.
Siggy seems to be enjoying her family life since tendering her resignation.
Keeping In Touch
“I’m not surprised. I think Siggy was a great Housewife, but I think she got in her own way. I think she got herself more worked up than it was even worth. It’s too much for her. She can’t control it, and she doesn’t like that,” Melissa answered.
Teresa explained that she talks to Siggy about once a week and that her former co-star even called to wish her daughter a happy birthday.
