Snooki’s ‘Jersey Shore’ Paycheck Revealed
You'll never guess what she made back in the day...
When Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi reunited with her Jersey Shore castmates on the recent season premiere of their Family Vacation, the 30-year-old reality star proclaimed “we’re, like, rich” when they moved into their swanky new mansion in Miami. But back in the day, the famous fist-pumper wasn’t so loaded.
According to her, she barely made any cash — literally! — during her time at Seaside Heights.
Paycheck to Paycheck
“We would get $200 a week from the Shore Store. I had never gotten that much in a week, like, every single week, because you usually get paid every two weeks,” she told InStyle’s new Money Talks column. “That was crazy for me.”
Per the article’s headline, “Snooki Got Paid in $200 Gift Cards the First Season of Jersey Shore,” it’s presumed her form of income didn’t come as a check or dollar bills either.
The rest of her co-stars — including Jenni “J-Woww” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Deena Nicole Cortese, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola — got roughly the same amount Snooki was making.
Though Hollywood is known for paying women less compared to their male counterparts on TV shows and movies, it seemed he original run of Jersey Shore was somewhat “progressive” in a way where guidos and the guidettes were all getting equal earnings. (Hey, even Oscar winners don’t get that treatment!)
“I’ve never experienced it,” she revealed, when asked if there was a gender pay gap. “We all got the same pay on Jersey Shore. If we didn’t, I probably would’ve freaked out.”
