Teresa Details First Prison Visit Since Mother’s Death
Teresa told Joe that he needed to apologize
Teresa Giudice’s mother Antonia Gorga passed away on Mar. 3, 2017, at only 66 years old. Teresa was left devastated by the loss especially since she was in prison for most of 2015, leaving her unavailable to her parents and children.
Teresa felt that being in prison was hard because it took time away from those she was closest to, and she blames Joe Giudice for landing them both behind bars with his illegal dealings.
Viewers of the latest episode of RHONJ were privy to the moment that Teresa and her two youngest daughters first saw Joe more than five months after her mother passed away. “The last time I was going to see Joe, I had to turn around because my mom went to the hospital,” she somberly said on the drive there. “I did lose time with her and I feel like it’s his fault. It sucks. Life sucks. When he comes home things are going to be so different.”
Teresa was concerned that she wouldn’t be able to say all of the things she needed to say during their three-hour visit. She continued,
“I mean, I never want to bring serious stuff around the girls, because I know the girls love spending every minute with him. I just want our daughters to know that he is really sorry about letting them down, cause that’s what he did — he let us down.”
The visit could not be filmed, but Teresa met up with her brother Joe Gorga and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga to talk about how the visit went. Teresa explained that she was nervous because she wanted to tell Joe that she realized that his actions made her lose almost a year with her mom.
“Not only did you do it to me, you did it to our daughters and why weren’t you on top of everything — I didn’t sign up for this,” she told them that she said to Joe. She also said that she asked him to apologize for that, which he did.
Teresa claimed that Joe said he wouldn’t let anything like that happen again. They both started crying and hugged each other. After Teresa left, Melissa expressed her belief that Teresa would leave Joe regardless of his apologies.
Whatever Shall Be Will Be
Teresa put a suspicious photo on Instagram on Jan. 6 that has made people believe she’s seeking a divorce already. She was having dinner with divorce attorney Loren La Forge-Kyriakoulis. “Dinner with a great friend getting great advice,” she captioned the photo. She later took out the word “advice.”
However, Teresa and her attorney are making it perfectly clear that she’s not going anywhere just yet.
“Both Joe and Teresa have each lost a parent, have both experienced incarceration and have both been without one another for long periods of time. I can tell you what they want more than anything is to be together with one another and their children and move forward to brighter days as a family,” her lawyer James Leonard Jr. told PEOPLE.
She was asked on the reunion special if she would follow Joe to Italy if he was deported there, and she happily responded that she wouldn’t mind it because “Italy’s a beautiful place to live.”
“Listen, whatever God has planned for me, that’s what’s going to happen. I will embrace it the best I can,” she concluded.
