Garner Stalker Silenced With Restraining Order

Nov 21, 2008 at 6:59am

Jennifer Garner has no need to wield that umbrella at this point—she’s been granted protection from Steven Burky, the man she says has been stalking her for over five years.

While Garner, 36, did not appear in court on her own behalf, celeb attorney Blair Berk showed up to ensure the also-36 Burky cannot come within 100 yards of the Alias star, her husband Ben Affleck or their two-year-old daughter Violet Affleck.

The parameters of the order say Burky is also restricted from Violet’s school or any place Garner might be working.

The actress has labeled Burky “obsessive and harassing,” compromising the safety of her brood with “packages and letters containing delusional and paranoid thoughts and following me around the country.”

Sounds like the premise to a Garner potboiler. Regardless, the Neutrogena spokeswoman can save drama and endangerment for the big screen. The order is in effect until November 2011.
