Whew; that was a close one!

George Clooney’s Italian sabbatical nearly came to a tragic end this weekend. A crazed fan rushed the actor in Portofino with no-doubt nefarious intentions. Clooney escaped with his life thanks to his keen motorbiking skills.

At least, that seems to be what’s happening in these pics. It’s also possible that Clooney was in a rush to exploit his easy access to a topless Cindy Crawford.

Or, perhaps fearful that the Grim Reaper was on a campaign to take out every Ocean’s Eleven cast member, George was on a mad dash to find a remote location where the cold finger of death could not find him.

Because George still has a lot of work left to do on this planet.
