The comeback trail for 45-year-old singer George Michael has led to him being detained by police for drug possession in a public bathroom close to his North London residence.
According to the Daily Telegraph, a lavatory attendant tipped off authorities who captured the critically acclaimed performer as he smoked small amounts of crack cocaine and marijuana.
Michael was taken to a local police station where he was issued a caution and released after accepting responsibility for the drugs.
"The caution was [issued] for the possession of Class A and Class C drugs, cocaine and cannabis," a spokesperson for Scotland Yard told the Telegraph. "No further action will be taken."
In 1998, the Wham! graduate was arrested and charged with engaging in a lewd act in a men's room at the Will Rogers Memorial Park in Beverly Hills, California. He has also twice been arrested after being discovered passed out in cars.
Investigators are baffled as to why, with his own bathroom so close at hand, the "Faith" crooner insisted upon doing his drugs in a public toilet.
Perhaps they should question this young lady.
