Not everyone's excited about the menage a trois that's scheduled to air on Gossip Girl on Monday.
EW.com reports that professional killjoys the Parents Television Council have fired off a stern letter to CW affiliates, urging them to preempt the episode.
In the letter, PTC President Timothy F. Winter writes,
"To include a story line like this on a program that is expressly targeted to impressionable teenagers is reckless and irresponsible. I appeal to your highest sense of decency, respect and common sense in urging you to preempt this episode."
Gossip Girl routinely depicts teenage characters engaging in promiscuous and consequence-free sexual behavior, and that’s bad enough. But will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films? Behaviors that not only increase health risks, but which are emotionally and psychologically damaging to participants, as well? I certainly hope not, and I’m sure members of your community and parents of children who watch your network expect more of you."
Wow; if that isn't the written equivalent of a harsh finger-wag, we don't know what is.
Tell us in the comments section: Does the PTC have a point, or are they just a bunch of publicity-hungry busybodies?

Simply don't let your children watch that trash. Better yet buy a gun at your local pawn shop and shoot your TV repeatedly. Nothing on there is worth watching.
Hey, Parents Television Council, here's a clue: Don't like it, don't watch it. And don't try to dictate what others may watch.
If you don't like Gossip Girl, you can simply block the television show from your T.V....it's as simple as that. I am really sick and tired of people complaining....if you don't like then you shouldn't watch. If they don't show Monday's episode....I'm going to hurt someone.
