‘Gossip Girl’ Spinoff Underway?
This should give the Gossip Girl cast something else to drink to. (Well, except for resident lightweight Chace Crawford).
Variety reports that the CW may be using an upcoming episode of the popular teen drama to see if the public is ready for a spinoff series.
It’s been rumored for a while that the show might be spun off. After all, the Gossip Girl book series already has its own companion series, The It Girl.
But sources hint that the spinoff would not be based around the It Girl books.
Which is probably a good thing, because the It Girl series revolves around Jenny Humphrey, the character played by Taylor Momsen. And the 15-year-old Momsen has already indicated that she might be more interested in a music career than acting at this point.
It is likely, however, that the spinoff would revolve around one of the nine primary GG characters, rather than a newly introduced character.

I would love, love, love to see a Jenny spin-off! But since she wants to focus on her music career I would have to say Serena.
