<![CDATA[Updates on the story "Jon and Kate's Independence Day Date" on Celebuzz]]> Although Jon and Kate Gosselin have declared their independence from each other and the press, it doesn't mean they can't fake it in front of the kids.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 couple hung out with their adorable children on the Fourth of July at their home in Wernersville, Pa.

The happy family event was planned weeks ago, so it looks like they have been getting along well enough to still be in the same environment together.

Kate told People magazine recently, "Jon pointed to the July 4 holiday and said, 'What are we going to do about that? I absolutely cannot imagine not spending every single holiday with my kids. I don't care what it takes. I will be there."
