Updates on the story "T.R. Knight and Jay Leno Stump for Gay Marriage" on Celebuzz

Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight was front and center at a mass gay wedding ceremony held at West Hollywood's famed gay bar the Abbey, which kicked off L.A.'s Gay Pride weekend.

Knight, alongside boyfriend Mark Cornelsen, acted as official witness to dozens of same-sex couples who tied the knot last night.

"There's a lot of hate around, and until that hate disappears, you're going to have people trying to push down another group of people for whatever reason," Knight said. He, however, did not take the plunge with his barely out of his teens boy-toy guy.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, eh, T.R.?

Obviously heeding the suggestion of his publicist, Jay Leno popped in for a brief appearance to express his "support."

Leno received plenty of flack back in March for a bizarre scenario on The Tonight Show in which he urged guest Ryan Phillippe to make his "gayest" face at the camera and subtly ridiculed one of Phillippe's first acting roles, when he played a gay teen on ABC's One Life to Live.

Phillippe, seemingly a little more aware of a public-relations disaster looming than the unfunny Leno was, declined to partake of the festivities.

Leno later publicly apologized for the incident and admitted it was "a dumb thing to say...I have friends in the gay community. Who doesn't know gay people in Hollywood?" he said, only half joking.

He's a card, that one.

Back in April, Jay Leno exhibited some sort of psychosexual issue he has when he asked his "Tonight Show" guest Ryan Phillippe to give the camera his "gayest" look. And mocked Phillippe's role as a gay teen on "One Life To Live" back in the day. Like I said then, I think Jay had a little tingle down in his cooch being in close proximity to the angelic Phillippe and that was how he worked it out. Creep ass.

Anyway, Jay probably a lost a hairdresser or his wife's decorator quit in a huff over this, so he's trying to make up for it. Jay will be covering a mass wedding of gay and lesbian couples at the famed West Hollywood gay bar the Abbey tomorrow night.

Wait, is he going to support or to make shitty jokes for his whitebread Republican audience? God, I hate Jay Leno. I'd rather be trapped in a clown car with Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz and Rumer Willis. While they're smoking.

"Grey’s Anatomy" actor T.R. Knight helps kick off National Gay Pride month with his 19-year-old boyfriend Mark Cornelsen on Wednesday night at West Hollywood’s the Abbey.

Dozens of same-sex couples took part in a symbolic “commitment to protect our rights” ceremony as a celebration of the California Supreme Court decision. Several couples committed with a “vow to vote no” and support of the campaign to defeat the November ballot measure that would take away the marriage rights granted by the California state Supreme Court.

West Hollywood mayor Jeffrey Prang presided over the ceremony, saying, “Your joined hands are outward and visible signs of an inward and spiritual bond, signifying to all your commitment to each other and your commitment in vowing to vote and protect your right to love.”
