If it's true that Jennifer Aniston is planning a $100,000 plastic-surgery makeover, she might want to ask the doctor to give her a brave face. She's going to need it.

British paper the Mirror claims that singer John Mayer, Aniston's most recent beau, has dumped the former Friends star.

"They initially opted for a break, hoping a trial split might make them stronger," a Mayer insider tells the paper. "Sadly...John took the decision to end things."

Guess that explains Mayer's recent spit-swapping frenzy with his opening act, Colbie Caillat, at one of his Texas concerts.
 
The source claims that earlier reports that Aniston had her eye on marriage and baby-making with Mayer were false, "but she did want to set a timetable for their future together."

Just goes to show you; one minute you can be all lovey-dovey and sharing your partner's pants. Next thing you know, you're on the Greyhound bus to Splitsville, wondering where it all went wrong.

If the paper's source is to be believed, Aniston is in emotionally stable condition: "Initially, Jennifer was furious when he told her of his decision, but...they have spoken on the phone since the split and are trying to remain on good terms."

Huh; Mayer must have laid one of his patented soft-serve dumps on her.
