Updates on the story "Vin Diesel Realizes That 'XXX' Are His Letters" on Celebuzz

Vin Diesel, 41, seemed poised for Bruce Wills/Sylvester Stallone/Nicholas Cage-type superstardom when he debuted as an action hero in 2002's XxX.

But then the recently announced new dad decided he was a little above such things. Vin let Ice Cube head up the XxX sequel and moved on to star in a series of less successful flicks such as The Pacifier, Find Me Guilty and The Chronicles of Riddick.

Diesel has apparently realized his mistake. Cinematical reports that the man with the muscled dome will return to the franchise with XxX: The Return of Xander Cage.

The screenplay is from John Brancato and Mike Ferris, the screenwriting team that brought you The Net, The Game, Catwoman, Primeval and Terminator 3 (oh lordy). Who knows—this could be Diesel's comeback piece.

Or he could go back to being a bouncer.
