Nick Lachey Weighs In on Jessica Simpson Slams

As the defense keeps rolling in for increasingly buxom blonde Jessica Simpson, a voice from her past has shown up to support.

"I wish her nothing but the best and I hope she's happy—whatever size that comes in," Simpson's ex-husband Nick Lachey tells Extra.

Interviewing in Tampa where the singer is on hand Superbowl festivities, Lachey expressed his confusion over the denim scandal.

"I can't believe it's this big of a story and people are making such a huge deal about it. I'm never ceased to be amazed by people's reactions to things," the singer said.

Lachey, 35, has been dating True Beauty host Vanessa Minnillo for over two years.

He's currently prepping to release his third solo album, Coming Up for Air.

Sorry but Jessica shows symptons of being out of control with her weight gain. Tony Romo said she likes to drink and party to much so that might be a warning for her. Someone needs to tell her she needs to watch her weight as if she really looked at herself she would not like what she sees. She does not need to be told she looks great. someone be honest with her.

I used to LOVE Nick but now I just like her music, he should've kept his mouth close.
And what kind of image is this whole scandal giving teenagers .. I mena, overreacting over some wweight gain. I think Jessica is a beautiful woman and shouldn't let this stupid scandal get to her.
