Guy Ritchie Suits Up for Custody Battle
She may be Madonna, but that doesn’t mean Guy Ritchie can’t find referrals from friends in high places.
For months it was speculated, then confirmed, that bulldog Fiona Shackleton would represent Madge in divorce proceedings from her husband of eight years.
It’s now reported that Shackleton, who has represented both Prince Charles and Paul McCartney in their own messy splits, will go up against one of the best family attorneys in the UK biz—and all over the children.
Ritchie has recruited Steven Cobb, labelled a master of custody relations, with a reported intention to fight for the kids to remain in London and their home in the British countryside.
Speculation is Madonna is ready to come back stateside with her brood, consisting of 12-year-old Lourdes, eight-year-old Rocco and little David Banda, three.
Ritchie wants no such shuffle to occur, and appears to be lawyering up to ensure the children go nowhere. Additionally, there’s that small matter of property division.
Looks as though the coming months are all sticky and no sweet for the former power couple.
I hope he gets the kids, and Madonna’s right arm, which he can hang above the fireplace as a memento.
