Hathaway and Cruz: Oscar Stars Align at Tower Bar

You know it's got to be Oscar week, because the stars are all out in Hollywood gearing up for the big night.

A virtual Oscar preview was on dining display Tuesday night at the Tower Bar of the Sunset Tower Hotel. According to our starstruck diner, Best Actress Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married) was seated at what appeared to be a business dinner, when Best Supporting Actress nominee Penelope Cruz walked in and made her way to a nearby table.

"Their eyes met and they greeted each other in a manner befitting fellow nominees -- a hug, smiles and chit-chat," says our diner. Penelope was with two gentleman, neither of them was Javier Bardem.

In another section of the dining room sat a casually dressed Jennifer Aniston eating with a friend.  She too will attend the Oscars with boyfriend John Mayer. "She was in jeans," says our diner. "But she's fit, glowing and all smiles --  she's one dress away from red-carpet ready."

Another night like that and they ought to just crack out the trophies and give them out there.
