Hayden Panettiere Turns Herself In

on Jan. 13, 2009 07:00 PM / 6 Comments

Hayden Panettiere has turned herself in to the police—and it's not because she's inherited her father's alleged penchant for domestic violence.

TMZ reports that the Heroes cheerleader was rocking out to the acoustic-based tunes of the Jon Turco Band at a 21-and-over club in Suffern, New York (Hayden was born in nearby Palisades), just before Christmas.

A club bouncer noticed that the music fan seemed a bit too young for the venue. After checking Panettiere's ID and noticing the date of birth—Hayden's only 19—but not the famous face attached to it, club staffers confiscated the ID and tossed the actress out, in accordance with state regulations.

Hayden reacted by pitching a fit and calling the cops in an effort to retrieve her ID.

Amazingly, the police honored the request, showing up at the club, taking the ID card back from the club, and returning it to Panettiere.

For the record, sources say that the Heroes actress hadn't been drinking while at the club.

Huh; in a club and not drinking? Guess  Hayden wasn't kidding when she insisted that she's nothing like Lindsay Lohan.

But it still takes a boatload of cojones to call the cops and complain that your ID was confiscated because you were illegally hanging out in a bar.

Maybe Panettiere got confused and forgot she wasn't in Hollywood? As a regular attendee at hot Tinseltown functions, she definitely scores more access than the average 19-year-old.

Actually, if she wasn't drinking she couldn't be arrested, and bars have no legal right to confiscate legitimate government identification. She actually was right on both counts.

I'm pretty sure that it's illegal for a minor to even be in a 21-and-over establishment. But, I'm not officially a lawyer.

I AM THE LAW (much like Judge Dredd). Accordingly, Hayden is found guilty on all charges. As punishment, she is to report immediately to my bedroom... no eye contact though, that's illegal as well.
