Heather Locklear Learns Things the Hard Way

Heather Locklear can't wait for this year to end, and rightfully so. The past 12 months have seen the 47-year-old actress enter an Arizona rehab facility, only to be arrested and charged with DUI shortly after her release. (She faces a six-month sentence if convicted.)

Few people will be more relieved than her when that ball drops on January 1.

"I am really looking forward to 2009," Locklear told Tonight Show host Jay Leno on Wednesday night's program, Us Magazine reports. "There's, like, three weeks left—I'll stay in my house."

While Locklear was on Leno's show to promote her new Lifetime movie, Flirting With 40, the onetime Melrose Place resident's recent personal woes dominated the interview.

Conceding that recent months have been "rough," the beleaguered thespian nonetheless says that she sees light at the end of the tunnel.

"I'm good today," she noted. "I think I am over that bump. I've done so much work."

Well, clearly. Locklear spent Thanksgiving with her ex-husband, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, 49, with whom she has an 11-year-old daughter, Ava Elizabeth. Also present: Locklear's current beau, actor Jack Wagner, 49.

If she can be graceful under that kind of holiday awkwardness, Locklear can make it through anything.
