Holly Madison: 'Playboy' Editor No More

Holly Madison has given up her job as "Playmate Editor" at Playboy magazine to be closer to her boyfriend, illusionist Criss Angel, in Las Vegas.

Madison used her Celebrity MySpace blog to explain why she quit and what her future plans are.

"One: I moved to Vegas, and that job doesn't pay enough to make a commute worthwhile," she writes. (Angel, known for his TV series Mindfreak, performs his show five nights a week at the Luxor Hotel in Vegas.)

But Madison, who was one of the three original Girls Next Door, also abandoned the publilshing gig partly due to her former boyfriend, 82-year-old Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. It seems she found the workplace environment a tad uncomfortable after the two split up in October.

"It was awkward. Not that anyone tried to make it awkward or didn't treat me fairly...it just was," Madison admits.

Holly's fellow Girls have also moved on. Bridget Marquardt is working on a travel show, Bridget's Sexiest Beaches, for the Travel Channel, and Kendra Wilkinson is shooting a new E! reality show with her fiancé, NFL player Hank Baskett.

Of course, Hef seems to have his hands full these days too; his latest Girls Next Door, 22-year-old psychology student Crystal Harris and twin medicinal marijuana procurers Karissa and Kristina Shannon, 19, seem to keep him pretty busy.

Good for Holly...Hef is an old fool who actually thinks that girls 19 years old could actually find him sexually attractive. He use to have style and penash...now he is only a dirty old man.

I agree 100% with Marie. Hugh Hefner truly is an old fool....albeit an old fool with money. He's 82 years old and the young, sexy girls who "use" him are just as foolish. Hef is playing out till the very end his idea of how women should "put out" for him, his cronies, and the lust-suckers in general. Chew them up, spit them out. I'm sure there are a zillion stories of those sexy, young women who are depleted after servicing themselves to the Playboy image.
Hugh will never be ashamed of himself but that doesn't prevent half the world from being ashamed of him, his life-style, and how he spends his time and money. Surely he can't be too much longer in this world! And hopefully, when he dies, the world of Playboy can be exposed for what it really "is" and not for the illusion created. Holly, thank goodness you've moved on. And I hope you continue to grow in intelligence, self-esteem, and tranquility.
