Check out my diet story in Life & Style on news stands this week!
This is my latest favorite smoothie recipe. I found it following SimpleGreenSmoothies on Instagram. I love this recipe, but if you double the amount of almond butter and raw cacao, it tastes even better! Kind of a chocolate peanut butter thing going on!
When I was staying at La Quinta in Indio last weekend, I was
pleasantly surprised to find stevia on my room service tray along with the
usual sugars and artificial sweeteners. I wish more places would offer
stevia. It’s the best sweetener! It has no calories and it’s all natural!
(Hint, hint Starbucks!)
Recommended reading: The Beauty Detox Foods by Kimberly Snyder. I loved her first book, The Beauty Detox Solution, so I had too get this one right when it came out. There are tons of recipes in this book (as you can see, mine is already marked up with post-it’s) but my favorite thing about Kimberly’s books is how informative they are. She really breaks down which foods are beneficial to you and which ones aren’t, giving all the reasons why. I love learning about nutrition, it helps me make better choices when I’m eating out, which for me is most of the time.
I’ve started making some non-toxic cleaners for use in the baby’s room. The first recipe is super easy: fill a spray bottle almost full with water, squeeze in a little lemon for scent, add several capfuls of white vinegar and a few tablespoons of baking soda.
Voila! Now you have a non-toxic surface cleaner that was totally inexpensive and safe to use when cleaning up in baby’s room!
