Hudson Family Murder Suspect: Free by Monday?

Nov 7, 2008 at 3:09pm

Even as friends and family mourn the deaths of Jennifer Hudson‘s mother, brother and niece, the man suspected of murdering them may be released as soon as Monday, TMZ reports.

The sole suspect in the case, William Balfour, is currently being held on a parole violation not related to the case. If he’s not charged with the late-October murders, or if there’s insufficient evidence that Balfour violated his parole, he could be released early next week. Balfour is scheduled to stand before the Illinois State Parole Review Board on Monday at 9 a.m.

The bodies of Hudson’s mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, and brother Jason, 29, were found dead of gunshot wounds in Donerson’s Chicago home on October 24. Her seven-year-old nephew, Julian King, was discovered several days later in Jason’s stolen SUV.

So far Balfour—who allegedly made threats against the family prior to the killings—has refused to cooperate with police.
