Jackson Rathbone Talks ‘Eclipse’ Flashbacks
Jackson Rathbone is having flashbacks, y’all—and he wants to share them with you!
The Twilight actor spilled to MTV about the flashback sequences revolving around his character, Civil War vet Jasper Hale, in the currently filming Twilight sequel Eclipse.
According to Rathbone, his back story will be filled in by a series of flashbacks—particularly of when he was “a bad dude, a bad vampire” who trained newborn bloodsuckers. And yes, we’ll be getting to see Jackson in full period dress:
“It was just really fantastic to get to delve in there and to get to don all the Civil War regalia and whatnot. That was a pleasure. I had to wear this wool suit of a major, cavalry major. I got the big hat and everything. Hop off the horse, bow to these ladies, and then I get eaten. And then I get turned!”
Rathbone adds that Hale’s back story will be filled in as Jasper reveals his past to Bella Swan, following a training sequence where he helps the Cullens prepare to do battle with the newborn vampire army that Victoria is building:
“It’s actually the first time Bella and Jasper interact that’s longer than one sentence, or me attacking her. Kristen [Stewart] and I kept saying it was really nice to get to work together because we had never had a chance to really, kind of, like, get into some dialogue.”

actually, he hasn’t done much for the twilight saga. i mean he’s there but he never got a scene for himself really. Can’t wait to see him in action and can’t wait to see the MOVIES!

YES. His character that I would both be to frightened to meet, but really, reaaly REALLY want to meet. Hey, Alice can’t be wrong, now can she? IMHO, I think Jackson Rathbone is even better looking than Rob. Vampires in Twilight are supposed to be inhumanly beautiful, and I think he looks more like an Edward than Rob. Though, don’t get me wrong, I love Rob’s Edward. Its just look wise, Jackson fits better between the two.

I am very excited to see his role expand. Jackson is a very talented and committed actor, as well as a great live performer (I’ve had the fortune to see him perform live with his band 100 Monkeys).
Jasper Hale’s backstory is the most interesting of all of the Cullens in my opinion, so I’m excited to see it played out.
Besides, what’s not to love about a hot guy in uniform riding a horse?
I’m excited to see the new direction New Moon looks to be taking. It seems to be sticking closely to the novel’s storyline while giving us a lot of artistic vision. I have many students who love this series of books. There are many “non-readers” who become totally immersed in these books. That’s great. That moment when you read a book that you connect with and it opens up this whole other world for you. That’s what I try to inspire in my students; a love of reading. As for Jasper, he is one of my favorite characters. I’m excited to see how Jackson portrays him and his back story.

of course i do, i cant imagine i the productors woul decide to put it in 3d, and in the scene jasper is without shirt Oh my god! im so excited because of that part, i love him he is handsome, a gentleman hes just my perfect man, i really loved him since i saw twilight, i love you jasper hale! and of course i love jackson rathbone! (his perfect body and his beautiful face) i cant wait to see him in eclipse.
