James McAvoy Pulls Out Of Film For Kid, Melts Our Cold Hearts

Atonement actor James McAvoy has reportedly pulled out of a film that would have paid him a “seven-figure sum” because he didn’t want to miss the birth of his first child. Ok, ladies, all together now: Awwwwww.

Filming for the movie, I’m With Cancer, begins soon and McAvoy was afraid that the filming would have forced him to miss the birth of his child with his wife, actress Ann-Marie Duff. (Cutie-pie Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been drafted to replace McAvoy in the film.) Even though he may be missing that million-dollar paycheck, we think McAvoy’s gesture of devotion to his wife and unborn child is genuinely sweet and almost brings a tear to our computer-fried eyes.

Maybe fellow Brit Jude Law could learn a thing or two about fatherhood from McAvoy’s example?
