Jay Lyon Wants Whitney Port Back

It sounds like Jay Lyon knows when he's let a good thing slip through his fingers.

The Australian musician, who was dumped by The City star Whitney Port by phone last week, tells OK! Magazine that he's hoping for another shot at the 24-year-old reality star/fashionista.

"I think it was early for our relationship to end," Lyon said at the One Is Greater Than None Benefit Concert in New York, where his group Tamarama was rocking the altruistic masses on Friday.

Recent scuttlebutt has it that Port has moved on to former Lipstick Jungle stud Robert Buckley. Lyon is philosophical about the news, but retains hope that he can re-assemble the pieces of his shattered romance with Port. "If [dating Buckley is] what she's doing, then great if she's happy," Lyon offers.

"When she gets back to New York we'll see what happens," Lyon adds. "I definitely don't want to give up on it."

And if Lyon fails to resuscitate his currently moribund relationship with Port? Well, he always has his tunes to fall back on. "Music is the main priority right now and always will be," Lyon asserts.

Wow, way to make a gal feel important, dude! How could Whitney have broken up with you in the first place?
