Just how dependent is Jennifer Aniston on the men in her life?

According to the New York Post, a panic shot through the Aniston camp after she and her current beau, John Mayer, broke up earlier this year, as promotional duties for her latest flick Marley & Me loomed.

It seems that Aniston, 39, was reluctant to hit the publicity trail for the flick if she wasn't in a relationship.

"She didn't want to face the glare of being unattached while Brad Pitt toted Angelina Jolie around" while promoting his latest movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a source tells the paper.

Aniston's associates went into crisis mode, scrambling for a replacement boyfriend for her. "A friend of her agent was calling around asking for young men whom they could set her up with," reveals the source.

Luckily, Aniston and her 31-year-old musician soul mate reunited shortly thereafter, sparing the agent the indignity of logging onto the "M4W Escorts" section of Craigslist on her client's behalf.

(During Mayer and Aniston's romantic hiatus, Jen was linked with several men, including 300 star Gerard Butler.)

Maybe Jen should take a lesson from John, and keep a spare mate around for just such emergencies.

There are plenty of guys who would be willing to fill the role, some of them available on very short notice.

RealityCheck - great comment. What the hell? It's so funny how sites like this and just jared loonies have time day in and day out to try and make falsities of Jen's life. She's shown how independent she is - She's been single and happy and dating wonderful men and I'm sure she had a lot to do with ending the relationships with those men - Her personality is the type to leave a guy if she knows it's not right imo.And hilarious that the loonies are talking crap about Jen's photo shoot. Great photo shoot and she looks beautiful. It's funny the loonies have forgotten that AJo and brood were shot photos by her lover, his "private" family photos, showing not only the children, but their mother's tits and ass for all the world to see. Jen will always be a class act and AJo will always be desperate and needy, seeking to relieve her inner demons.

Jennifer doesn't leave men. They leave her. If you call sleeping with a variety of men, stripping down and posing on a magazine cover, cursing like a sailor a class act,then you need a new dictionary.

JEN is needy?? Angelina shanked half of hollywood before running after Brad Pitt to save her career! Before Brad she ws just that whore nut job who drank blood and french kissed her brother!! And by the way, Jen contributes PLENTY of money AND TIME to St Jude's Children's Hospital...a pretty damn worthwhile charity to me....unlike some peope who just throw a million or two around and go for the photo ops with orphans!!
