Jessica Simpson: Higher Power Through Higher Ed

New aunt Jessica Simpson has been doing some heavy thinking about furthering her education…and her spirtuality.

The 28-year-old singer/actress, whose father Joe Simpson was a Baptist minister before becoming Jessica’s manager, is looking to become a religious academic.

“I’ve been contemplating taking a college course in religion. I love religion,” Jess says, as quoted by Radar Online. “I remember whenever the book The Da Vinci Code came out, the Discovery Channel did this three-night piece on it that I TiVoed and then watched eight times.”

Funny, people in Russia are probably doing the same thing with Simpson’s recent box office hit in their country, Major Movie Star.

“I am the first person to go to Barnes & Noble and buy the new self-help book,” says the blonde. “I like to fill out the surveys, then I get my friends’ opinions on how I answered to see if I was being honest with myself or not.”

Jessica has been employing a lot of honesty in her life, lately. In an interview with Cosmopolitan last month, she told the magazine that her ex-husband Nick Lachey, whom she was married to for four years, wasn’t the right one for her.

She’s currently in a relationship with 28-year-old Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo.
