Carrie Underwood tells Elle that she's very sorry for possibly upsetting Jessica Simpson with her recent comments that Simpson's boyfriend and Underwood's ex Tony Romo still calls her.

"It was something that was said in passing, and I would never mean to say anything to hurt anybody or stir up anything. I'm just not about drama...at all," she tells Us.

In August, Carrie said that her cell will ring "and it'll be [Romo], and I'll maybe not answer." Oh really?

Simpson shot her claims down by saying she checked Romo's call log.

Is Carrie nervous about running into Jess at the CMAs? Maybe she's trying a little preemptive damage control?
