Jessica Simpson On Her Weight

Jessica Simpson, 28, made an appearance on CBS' The Early Show this morning and discussed the recent controversy over her supposed weight gain.

It was her first live appearance since photos depicting her looking decidely curvy surfaced several weeks ago.

"Honestly, I am right where I'm supposed to be. I am so happy," Simpson said. "Right now I'm on tour with Rascal Flatts, having a blast. We're at Madison Square Garden tomorrow. Everybody's just been so warm and welcoming. Lots of hugs, I like that ... Texas style."

Simpson was interviewed from Nashville, where she announced the nominations for the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

She also performed her single, "Pray Out Loud."

"Everything's really great," she said. "It's all about keeping the faith. That's why I pray out loud."

Simpson has been having a rough time of it lately, recently experiencing a meltdown on stage during a concert.
