Jewel Gets Married on the Down-Low
Looks like Jay-Z isn’t the only celebrity who’s cagey about nuptials.
People magazine reports that “You Were Meant for Me” singer Jewel (full name: Jewel Kilcher) married her long-time boyfriend, rodeo champion Ty Murray, in a private ceremony yesterday.
The couple, who have been together for 10 years, exchanged vows at Bahamian resort the Cove Atlantis.
The under-the-radar wedding shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Murray, 38, has a starring role in the 34-year-old singer’s latest video, the tellingly-titled “I Do.”
Jewel’s rep says that the bride went with a traditional gown, while her bull-riding hubby “wore his favorite blue jeans, white shirt and cowboy hat.”
At a charity event in Nashville days before the ceremony, Jewel opined that marriage is “something that needs to be taken seriously.”
A celebrity who takes marriage seriously is a rare, rare treat these days.
