Kristen Stewart has been letting the tears roll on the set of The Runaways. And no, it isn’t because of her mullet.
Turns out Joan Jett herself has been causing Kristen to burst into tears.
New York Daily News reports that Joan gave Kristen a hard time last week while trying to improve Kristen’s portrayal of her.
"Joan just wants Kristen to play an authentic version of herself, so she needled her a little bit too much. But she apologized when she realized how upset Kristen got,” said an insider.
Where’s Robert Pattinson to protect K-Stew when she needs him?
Kristen should be grateful that Joan Jett herself has been on set coaching her on how to perfect her character. If she wants to succeed in Hollywood, she might need to toughen up and learn how to accept criticism.
But apparently there are no hard feelings. “They’re like mother and daughter now,” said an insider.

Kristen is a great actress and I think she's very pressure that plays a real person and the role is very important to her
Posted elsewher, but this bears restating. For all the bitchy little haters who thing (alright, maybe "think" is too strong a word), about Kstew's acting skills, the critics are unanimously enthusiasatic. To wit:
"Most significantly, she's in tune with her lead actress: Stewart is an intuitve, appealing performer (she's given sturdy performances in pictures like Barry Levinson's recent "What Just Happened" and Jonathan Kasdan's "In the Land of Women"), and here, she manages to be a believably sexual presence -- that is, a young woman who's just starting to reckon with, all too painfully, the nature of sexual desire -- in a movie where there is, decidedly, no sex."
-Stephanie Zacharek, Salon
Or:
"The best thing in the film is Kristen Stewart, and she's better at conveying physical longing than any of the actors playing vampires. She alone suggests how this series was born, in the mind of a young Mormon girl who had to sublimate like mad with thoughts of vampires."
- David Edelstein, NPR
Or, if NPR is too stodgy for you, how about Rolling Stone?
"Props to Kristen Stewart, 18, and Robert Pattinson, 22, for playing this uncool-girl-meets-undead-boy story with genuine romantic ardor. Theyre both terrific."
Bottom line is, critics love her, directors love her, and the camera loves her. Get ready for many years of her emotional performances. But never fear, there's plenty of Miley Cyrus, with her gummy grins and limped wet eyes to go around. Or maybe you prefer the vaseline dipped porn poseur style of Megan Fox? Suck it haters!
Kristen is great!!
She is a wonderful actress, beautiful, and seems like a good person, people need to stop being so rude
I love Kstew :-)
...and i don't believe joan made her cry.
Blah Blah Blah,,,,,,,,
jealous much,,,,,loser
The best actors keep working on their craft no matter how many movies they were in. Just because she's been cast in films in the past doesn't mean her acting dont need work. She is cast in films because twirps ,like many that have posted here, know who she is and are loyal (ignorant).
You see, the problem here is not Kristen Stewart. It's Joan Jett. When you have nostalgic view of yourself, nothing will compare or even come close to what you remember. Non one can fulfill that reemergence of yourself. Because it will be distorted and at age 50, you will idealize your best days of your life. No one can do that. Not even Joan Jett at age 50. The story here makes it sounds like Kristen Stewart couldn't take a verbal critiscm. Are you kidding me? This girl is pure professional in her acting career and she puts her heart and soul into her roles. She is one of best young actors around and JJ should be considered lucky to even have this girl play herself. This "needling" sounds like someone just gave someone a pep talk or gentle push. Do you know how JJ sounds when she get pissed?? She fu cking goes off to some people and starts to yell at people. She is one tough bi tc h I give you that. So when JJ goes off on you for whole dam week, you will get idea why Kristen Stewart cracked a bit with pressure of paps on you daily and JJ cussing you out. Get a clue people.
i doubt any of this is true. i mean, we've all seen and heard about kristen and joan's close relationship, and how they spent a lot of time together [reportedly even on new years day]. i seriously question the validity of this article.
and as for speculation as to kristen's work schedule, i feel a bit of sympathy for her. she's 19, working on several movie productions at one time, and dealing with the hounding paparazzi and everything that comes along with that all at the same time. she certainly has a full plate.
Didn't princess bobby say he thought Kristen is the best actress of her generation? How good can she be if JJ has to make her cry to get her to do her job, you know actually act for once.
Well Kristen is no Helen Mirren in the acting department for sure.
