John Mayer took time outside the Met's Costume Institute Gala in NYC the other night to chat with the press. How giving of him. The topic? How everything is copascetic, man, and it's like no hassle, you know, and wanna smoke another bowl?

"Listen, this is not a scandal, this is not an issue, this is not a problem, this needs no spin control," he told Entertainment Tonight. "This is me living my life. There are much worse problems in the world. Everything's cool!"

Mayer was alluding to his recent poolside adventures with Jennifer Aniston in Miami that were splashed all over the Interwebs. The emo rocker reportedly spent five days with Jen at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Probably cracking lame jokes and talking some cutesy self-deprecation to get into her bikini bottom. Hey, it worked for Vince Vaughn.

He said the photographer who got the shots of him and Aniston "had a really powerful lens."

"I don't fault him, I don't fault anybody, I don't fault you, I don't fault this or that," Mayer said. Seriously, is that a bong in his pants, or did he just spot Jen again?
