Following the January 2 death of his 16-year-old son Jett, John Travolta has opted out of his presenting gig at tonight's 66th Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

Travolta's rep told Us magazine that he and wife Kelly Preston are still in mourning.

The actor's latest flick Bolt is up for Best Animated Feature at the Globes. Travolta himself is nominated in the Best Original Song category, for "I Thought I Lost You," his duet with Miley Cyrus from the film.

The Travoltas laid their son Jett to rest on Thursday in Ocala, Florida, after the teen's death from an apparent seizure disorder.

John, 54, and Kelly, 46, posted the following statement on Preston's website last week: "We have received many messages of condolence from around the world and we want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. It has meant so much to us. It is a beautiful reminder of the inherent goodness in the human spirit that gives us hope for a brighter future."

On Friday's episode of The View, friend and fellow Scientologist Tom Cruise became emotional when the subject of Jett Travolta's death was brought up.

"I just don't have the words for it. It's just horrific," the actor told Barbara Walters.
