John Travolta Is Sick of Cross-Dressing

John Travolta is hanging up his wig forever. At least the one he wore as Edna Turnblad in the 2007 John Waters flick Hairspray.

While New Line Cinema has asked Waters to write a sequel to the flick, Travolta won't be appearing in it, according to Playbill.

"I think once is enough," Travolta explained. "I did it well but I'm not a big sequel guy."

Too bad John-John didn't develop that philosophy before signing on for follow-ups Staying Alive and Look Who's Talking Too.

Maybe the devoted Scientologist is just making excuses because L. Ron Hubbard came to him in a vision and told him to knock off the tranny stuff. The church has enough trouble maintaining a positive public image with some of the causes it's been taking on lately.

Hopefully New Line will be able to find a suitable replacement for Travolta. There must be someone out there who's up to the task.
