Johnny Depp Spends $62,000 to Clothe ‘Pirates’ Crew
Is Johnny Depp bucking for sainthood?
Fresh off of his surprise visit to a British school to entertain kids while in character as Captain Jack Sparrow, the Sun reports that the actor once again displayed his generosity recently, this time to the Pirates of the Caribbean crew.
A crew member tells the newspaper that, responding to a recent cold snap in the weather, Depp purchased jackets for the entire crew—at considerable personal expense to himself. The source reveals,
“Johnny paid out of his own pocket for all 500 of us to have a nice warm waterproof…It’s a great morale boost and another example of why he is one of the nicest people in Hollywood.”
According to the paper, the waterproof hiking jackets cost about $125 each—making a grand total of $62,000 and change that Depp spent to keep his crew warm.
Don’t bother buying us any jackets, Johnny; just hearing about your act of generosity is warming our hearts plenty already.
