Julianne Hough: Not Quite Ready to Get Footloose
Not so fast, Julianne Hough; your spot in the upcoming remake of Footloose isn’t quite a done deal yet.
Despite reports that Hough had pretty much secured a starring role alongside Chace Crawford in the movie, the New York Post reports that the Dancing With the Stars cast member may be in danger of losing the part—because she can’t act.
A source tells the paper that Hough’s audition “was so bad, the producers sent her off to take acting classes. She’s scheduled for another screen test August 1.”
Not that she’s totally out of the running. “They definitely like her, but the producers know they need a real actress for the movie to work,” the insider continues. “She’s a pretty girl who can sing and dance, but so was Mariah Carey, and we all know how Glitter turned out.”
With unintentionally hilarious consequences? Is that such a bad thing?

and i’m sure that she could act pretty good.
I guess the producers found out she acts as bad as she sings.

uhmmm i am sorry she sings way better than you ever could sing in your life. She has the voice of an angel and i think she would be GREAT in this movie.

Yeah her singing is great, my ears are still recovering from that
juicy fruit commercial, in which her voice has obviously been enhanced and if that’s what she sounds like after it’s been through editing, can you imagine what it sounds like without?
As for her acting, you may be on to something, she sure can REALLY act like she can actually sing!
Julianne can sing but the fake country accent is so annoying. However if she can’t act then this job should go to someone who deserves it. And based on the way she has “acted” with her whole showmance, I would say find someone else or the movie is a joke.
Of course the girl can act! Millions of people thought she fell in love with that skater guy on her first season of DWTS….and she said it was acting! Looked pretty real!
So Chace can’t sing or dance, they both have to work on things.
Julianne is perfect for the part. At least Julianne has done some acting. They have months to prepare. Can’t compare her to Mariah.
