Just Beat It: The Mayer-Wentz Bromance

Pshh...forget about Alex Rodriguez and Madonna. We are so over them. John Mayer and Pete Wentz are the real "soulmates" of the summer.

Mayer has a song called "Man on the Side." Wentz loves makeup and was the coverboy on last month's Out magazine.

Something smells fishy and its not coming from the soccer field. It's the aroma of summer bromance sweeping through the streets of Hollywood.

The couple first got together earlier this year when John helped out with the Fall Out Boy cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It." Then Pete posted a blog, entitled Yes, It's a Crush, about how touched he was by Mayer's outlook on life. John quickly responded, Crush Accepted, and admitted that he "thinks the world" of Pete.

Quickly becoming bored with shameless Internet flirting, the musicians met for a jam session at Mayer's pad on June 4th. They've been hanging out ever since, most recently for a lunch date in Hollywood on Tuesday.

Don't forget, one is married and expecting, and the other is on dangerous territory.

But, hey, they love music, the Simpson family, talking about themselves, and looking hot. Is this a summer fling or something more? Only time will tell.
