MTV put the fork in its long-running (10 years) video countdown show TRL (Total Request Live) on Sunday with a live 2 1/2 hour finale from Times Square.
The show featured the return of slimmed-down host Carson Daly (ease up on the Nutrisystem, kid), and appearances by Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Justin Timberlake, Kid Rock and Diddy (who's in the record books for making 37 total appearances on the show).
Among the stars who performed were Fall Out Boy, Ludacris, and 50 Cent. Sasha Fierce Beyonce rocked her two new singles and tossed out TRL favorite "Crazy In Love" for the screaming fans. The Backstreet Boys belted out the TRL classic "I Want It That Way."
Kid Rock and Snoop Dogg passed around a cigar, Diddy teared, and even Eminem called in!
"I feel like they're tearin' down my home," the Detroit-based rapper lamented.
Long known for showing ten second clips of videos as screaming and crying tweens threw themselves on the sidewalk outside its Times Square studio, the show will be missed.
Especially since it's official that MTV, the network built on music videos, will totally be without videos now.
