Justin Timberlake sure has been building his philanthropic cred recently.
Not only is he spearheading a benefit concert for Shriners Hospital for Children in Las Vegas on Friday, but while he's in Sin City he'll be swinging his golf club for the same charity.
Golf Las Vegas Now reports that the fashionable and in-demand singer has teamed up with the PGA to launch the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open, which runs October 13-19.
At a press conference for the event, Timberlake discussed his love for golf and
the similarities between swinging a club and singing for an audience.
"I grew up an athlete, and I would say I actually attack my career in more of a fashion of an athlete than an entertainer. I have an hour and a half routine before every show just like the pros have an hour-, two-hour routine of warming up before every round. I attack everything like an athlete. That's how I grew up."
Yeah, but everyone already knew that, Justin!
Anyway, good for you, helping out the children and all. It's heartening to know that there's more than one celebrity out there who's willing to lend a hand to needy kids.
