Kanye West isn't traditionally known for his modesty. But the 31-year-old rapper is apparently willing to start at the bottom when it comes to his post-music ambitions.

British newspaper the Mirror reports that the occasionally volatile 808s & Heartbreak artist is moving to London next next year to pursue a fashion career.

West has applied to train at Louis Vuitton's luxury-goods headquarters on that city's Bond Street, among other fashion houses in England and Europe.

And while West's ultimate goal is to start his own fashion line, he says he's willing to do a little bowing and scraping to get his foot in the door.

"I'm going to go and take an internship and just do something that's like completely normal, and just rap at the weekends or something," West claims.

Wow; Kanye West, serving tea and crumpets to a bunch of fashion execs—sounds like a recipe for hilarity. Or disaster.

An interest in fashion is by no means surprising from Kanye, who has had a distinctive style of sunglasses named after him.

Still, given his sometimes combative temperament, maybe West should apply for a position more suited toward his personality. Head of security, maybe?
