Kanye West — I ‘Spawned’ Taylor Swift’s Success
Kanye West can’t seem to avoid talking about Taylor Swift, as the rapper is now assuming partial credit for her being “the most popular artist in the world,” according to his most recent interview with radio show Mojo in the Morning.
“I feel like when Taylor was getting all those magazine covers, she was all good then. I feel completely empathetic and sympathize with that moment of her feeling bad, that spawned her to have one million magazine covers and be the most popular artist in the world, but in that moment of her feeling bad, I do feel bad about being the cause of that.”
In related Kanye news, a federal judge dismissed a $1,000,000 lawsuit from 2005 by rap kingpin Suge Knight that blamed the “Runaway” hit-maker for not providing enough security at a party he hosted at which Suge was shot in the leg. The ruling declared that West could not have predicted a shooting would occur, and that the event was merely unfortunate.

why is he constantly bringing her up in interviews gosh can we move on sh*t even she doesnt talk about the incident anymore. and he didnt spawn sh*t she already had the bestselling album of the year and a record breaking tour he was just another obstacle in her way.
This is exactly ONE (and there are several) of the reasons I can’t stand this ego-maniac. He is so full of himself. I guess he has to use her to bring himself back into the tabloids. Nobody gave a rats a$$ about him, he was all but forgotten. He has a new album and what better way to advertise it then bring up the $hit with Taylor. She didn’t need a stunt like that to get her album off the ground. I do so wish he would just go away. JERK

I agree with Kanye. I think she should send him a thank you card. She should send all the ex boyfriends thank you cards because she can’t seem to make it on her own. If a guy did that he would be bashed and labled a cad.

You people are fickle. Taylor’s own label admitted that after Kanye interrupted her at the VMAs, sales skyrocketed and Taylor was introduced to people outside of the US.
He definitely elevated her to a new level – a “Britney” level, if you will – of celebrity status. She definitely earned her awards without him. But sales of Fearless increased 40% the week of the Kanye incident, and there’s no denying that since that event, and because of that event, she has become far more famous than she previously was. She would not have likely sold over a million copies of Speak Now this past week if it weren’t for the Kanye incident. Let’s not let our fanboy/fangirl glasses block out the obvious facts here!

You might as well say that about any artist. Any good songwriter uses their own experiences to write a great song, music should be personal and come from the heart.

okay, after that incident sure people will check out her music but i doubt people will spend their hard earned money on her if her music wasn’t good.

WOW! Kanye did not make Taylor any more famous, the girl is where she is because of her amazing talent, now all hes looking for is for people to start paying attention to him again. Poor kanye is still not over the fact that thanks to his STUPID act of taking Taylors moment in 2009 hes losing his fans. Well keep it up and you wont have any left!
I was dismayed that night, but she pulled it to her advantage and made me lose any respect I ever had for her. She’s a less than ok singer, and a somewhat talented writer. Nothing more, nothing less. He is absolutely right.
Seriously people, wake up. This arse is coming out with a new cd in November, he says this crap in order to get his name out there. It is just publicity. That is all, just like his naked pictures coming out mere weeks before the cd drops. Wake up and pay no attention to this stuff. The only way he will go away is if people stop buying his crap and stop paying attention (printing) what he says.
Wow. At this point it is not even worth discussing whether or not Kanye West was the reason Taylor Swift is so popular. She is and that’s that.
But it is worth noting that the title to this article is as loaded as it could possibly be. He never explicitly said that he is the reason for her popularity (at least not in this particular case) but Celebuzz is insinuating that in order to gain more readers.
I also don’t think that he brings up Taylor Swift in all of this interviews as a mechanism for self-promotion. The interviewer probably asked him about it and he responded the way that he did. Again, Celebuzz didn’t do a very good job of showing the full interview, in its context, probably because it isn’t as ‘scandalous’ as they’re making it out to be.
Also, this is old news. No one cares anymore. Or at least they shouldn’t.
