Kanye West Wants You To Read His Book

Kanye West hates reading, but he urges you to pick up a copy of his new book Thank You And You’re Welcome.

The rapper, who is a college dropout and a “proud non-reader of books,” has penned a 52- page book, with some pages blank and others with just a few words describing his optomistic philosophies on life. He calls these “Kanyeisms.”

What was his incentive for writing the book, which he co-penned with J. Sakiya Sandifer? He explains, “I get paraphrased and misquoted all the time,” he told Reuters.

“My favorite one is ‘Get used to being used,’” he said, when asked which “Kanyeism” was closest to his heart. “I feel like to misuse, overuse or abuse someone is negative. To use is necessary and if you can’t be used, then you are useless.”

West dedicated his book to his late mother Donda West, who was a university English professor before she retired to manage his music career. “My mom taught me to believe in my flyness and conquer my shyness. She raised me to be the voice to allow people to think for themselves, to find their own way.”
