Superman Returns actress Kate Bosworth famously dated Orlando Bloom from 2002 to 2006.

And in the upcoming issue of Marie Claire, Bosworth, 25, explains that both she and Bloom each took one of the two dogs they owned as a couple after their split.

"We each got one...I love my dog," says Bosworth. "She's a cross-breed I got off the streets of Morocco and she's so cute. My mum was a real animal person as well, so I grew up with the dogs sleeping in the beds. My boyfriend found that really odd the first couple of times he stayed over."

Bosworth is referring to British model/musician James Rousseau, 27, whom she's been seeing since 2006.

When asked if she still lets the fully grown dog sleep sleep with her, the actress adds, "Oh yeah, always. The dog will stay in the bed before the man will!"

It's good to hear that Kate isn't the only actress who's found a common band bond with man's best friend!
