Kate Gosselin Has a Hankerin’ for Some Spankerin’
When it comes to discipline, Kate Gosselin apparently really gives her kids a hand.
According to Us Magazine, the Kate Plus 8 mom’s estranged husband, Jon Gosselin, has been spreading the word that Kate is a big fan—perhaps too big—of corporal punishment.
A source tells the magazine,
“Jon says she spanks the kids all the time. All she has to do is look at them and they get scared.”
Kate’s alleged slap-happy ways have spurred Jon to come up with a new nickname for her: “Monster mom.”
Kate shocked the nation back in July, when photos of her giving a few swats to daughter Leah hit the Internet.
And apparently, her hands aren’t the only parts to dish out stiff discipline to the Gosselin’s mega-brood; sometimes her feet get into the action too.
The source adds that, during one particularly violent moment of child-rearing, Kate “kicked a lego building into a million pieces because the boys didn’t put it away the first time she asked them to.”
Maybe she was just playing Godzilla?

AGREED.
Kate was just being a mother..those kids are 5 and 8..they are old enough to listen. I spank my daughter and i see nothing wrong with it as long as it stays appropriate for the situation. there are more serious child abuse cases out there that need to be addressed more than this one…its disgusting how tabloids try to make money off pics of a child screaming while getting their butt smacked. you should be ashamed of yourselves!
She’s a parent. She’s supposed to discipline her children as seen fit, and when they won’t listen to your warnings an action have to be taken. Spanking a child on the bottom doesn’t hurt them. Kicking over a lego building doesn’t hurt them. Running around with numerous women and having spread on every gossip mag from here to kingdom come with the caption “Sex Addict” typed next to your ugly mug. Now that hurts them. I spank my kids, and I don’t care what anyone says. I am shaping them into the people that I want them to become. They need that discipline and guidance. I have seen numerous children that don’t have that and I wouldn’t let them into my house for a second. He’s pulling straws here and he knows he has nothing. She is not abusing her kids. I threaten to take away toys and have even thrown a few out that are repetitively left on my floor after numerous warnings to my kids to pick them up. They have to know for every action their is a consequence. I am trying to make them realize this for the simple fact that I want them to know murdering someone is wrong, name calling is hurtful, and your actions hurt the ones that love you most. Maybe Jon should have been spanked a few more times. He obviously only thinks of himself. Besides, breaking the news that the beloved family pets are leaving by just blatantly telling the children, “you’re dogs are being taken away!” That’s not wrong, that is emotional abuse toward his children at an attempt to get to his wife. Face it, he’s a loser and she’s the one that had to wear the pants all these years. I would have treated him the same way. And just like Kate, I would have gotten very tired of my adult sized 9th child. Jon should go find a hole and jump in it with all the rest of the John Bobbit’s and OJ Simpsons in this world. He’s scum and scum deserves scum!

Who gives a crap if she does spank them!! Myself and brothers got spanked and never did what we did again and there were only 3 of us…for Christ sake she has EIGHT KIDS PEOPLE! Time-outs are a farce and NOT effective!! Kate is pulling this load herself….I love her and she shows how much she cares about her children ALL the time!!!

In general, I believe children should be spanked when they misbehave. It is the right thing to do at times.
Having said that, one must be careful abuse does not take place. Excessive use of corporal punishment can be very detrimental to children.
No, I do not believe spanking lowers IQs. If the legislators believe that, then I would suggest that maybe listening to such moronic argumentation lowers THEIR IQs!

I totally agree if they dont stop with all plucity and suff they will be hurt not from the spanking only from the life their living in now. I love Kate !!
What you don’t see if far worse.She is teaching the children that violence is ok.Violence begets violence.She is teaching the children that if you don’t like what someone is doing,then just hit them!If she did this to an adult,she would be arrested.I don’t like her ways,maybe she should get a good whack.

I agree that light spanking does work…. your comment carries no weight. All punishments have to be repeated whether for a repeat of the offense by the child or something new they’ve done. No child becomes perfect after one punishment whether it’s taking away a toy or a privilege. Even as adults we have to bear the consequences of our own wrong actions repeatedly. I simply wish Kate and her ex and the children the best as they go their separate ways.
I have no problem with spanking, but Kate has said many, many times to the children, “we don’t hit in this family”. Kate wanted a flunky and had a good one in Jon for a while. Right now he is acting like a child who just left his mommy’s house. The good news is that he willl grow out of his attitude; Kate will always try to be controlling.
kate is the worst mother I have ever laid eyes on. Somebody should spank both her and Jon for their tablodi tirades. And, then, kick, their million dollar house to the ground and remove the children so that they are only left with each other….and their bodyguards and paps.

Making memories is what Jon and Kate said they were doing – chronicaling their children’s lives. Well, they’ve got some pretty eye popping memories of their youth now, don’t they? Mommy and Daddy went on TV to talk about the problems we had at our house. Yeah, those were the good ol’ days. We hold those memories deep in our hearts.
