Kate Hudson Is Wicked Single

Stop the presses—Kate Hudson is not dating anyone. For the moment, anyway. But she's going to try to keep it that way.

The 29-year-old, relationship-hopping Bride Wars actress—whose recent conquests include emotionally fragile actor Owen Wilson and bicycling phenomenon Lance Armstrong—tells InStyle that she's swearing off guys for the foreseeable future.

"I'm actually enjoying being single right now because I really never have been," Hudson reveals to designer Stella McCartney in the mag's latest issue. "I feel good in relationships. I enjoy them, so I feel my best when I'm in something solid. But it's also the first time I've ever taken a step back and gotten a new perspective."

As a result of this fresh viewpoint, Hudson declares, "I've made a conscious decision to try to stay single as long as possible."

This declaration isn't completely out of the blue. After all, Hudson—who has a four-year-old son, Ryder, with her ex-husband, Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson—boldly advocated for the eradication of marriage earlier this year.

And of course, there's the genetic factor: Hudson's mom, former Laugh-In dancer Goldie Hawn, has yet to tie the knot with her beau of 25 years, actor Kurt Russell (with whom she has a 22-year-old son, Wyatt).

Maybe the ladies have a point. The single life can be tough, but marriage ain't always pretty either.

If you took every man that Kate Hudson has dated and laid them end to end...you'd run out of penicillin pretty quickly.
